I had a scary episode this week that has forced me to take life a little more seriously as far as taking care of my health.
I thought I was having a heart attack on Monday at about 5 a.m. in the FOX 13 parking lot while in my car. I bent over to tie my shoes and felt a sharp pain in my chest and began to have a shortness of breath.
Long story short, I found out I’m not getting enough sleep or rest for my body to recover, and the levels of caffeine in my body were extremely high, masking my symptoms of exhaustion. I am now getting to bed sooner, cutting down (way down) on caffeine consumption, and continuing my fitness regimen.
I always use humor to ease any situation or lighten the mood to the point where the phrase “too soon” is always applicable. I jokingly said to Dan & Kerri when they asked if I was OK that I just needed some time off. One of our co-workers, Beau, then posted this fun pic a la “See Dick Drink” cartoon. Hilarious and kudos to Beau for using my own words against me!
I love my job and the people I work with, and I am so appreciative for the new lease on life afforded me by BMI Utah, Salt Lake Regional Hospital, Dr’s Cottom & Richards, my FOX 13 family and all of you.
