Suspected gang member wanted for multiple homicides arrested in Utah

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah — A suspected gang member who was wanted in multiple homicides in and around Los Angeles has been arrested in Utah.

According to the St. George Police Department, Carlos Gonzalez-Mendez is suspected of being a member of the gang Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13).

Gonzalez-Mendez was located Thursday by the St. George Police Department’s Fraudulent Identity and Security Threat Unit (FIST). He was arrested through a cooperative effort by the St. George Police Department, the US Marshals Service, Homeland Security and the Los Angeles Police Department.
