SALT LAKE CITY — A bill unveiled in the Utah State Legislature calls for the death penalty for whomever is involved in a case where a child trafficking victim dies.

The bill, filed by Rep. Paul Ray, R-Clearfield, also prohibits a reduction in sentence for human trafficking of minors. It was filed last week ahead of the legislative session that begins later this month.

Rep. Ray’s bill is the latest in a series of bills being introduced in the legislature that crack down on human trafficking in the state.
