SYRACUSE, Utah — The day after a fatal accident involving a teenage pedestrian and a vehicle, the Davis School District has identified the victim, who was a student at Syracuse High School.

According to a post from the Davis School District and information from his family, the teen killed in Thursday’s crash is Alan Larose. Alan, 16, was a junior at Syracuse High School.

Police stated Thursday the teen was crossing Antelope Drive in Syracuse when he was hit by a car around 6:45 p.m. The teen was taken to a hospital, where he died due to the injuries he suffered.

Police said there is not a crosswalk in the area where the teen was hit, and they said the teen was wearing dark clothing and that heavy rainfall at the time may have made it difficult for the driver of the car, a 42-year-old woman from Clearfield, to see the teen.

Police said Thursday that so far there were no indications of impairment or distracted driving and that the driver had been cooperative with authorities.
