NEW ORLEANS — At least ten people have reportedly been taken to hospitals for treatment after shots were fired at a gathering in New Orleans Sunday evening.

WGNO in New Orleans reports the shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. local time on the 1900 Block of Gallier Street in the Ninth Ward.

Police tell WGNO that more than 500 people were gathered at a playground to shoot a music video, and the event was not set up with proper permitting and planning. As police were on their way to break up the gathering, a suspect or suspects began shooting into the crowd.

Ten people were taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries, though it wasn’t clear how many were suffering from gunshot wounds.
