Be Mindful of Security
o Don’t online shop on open/free/unsecure Wi-Fi
o Make sure online retailers are safe and secure. Check address bar that it has https or that they have the TrustE privacy seal
o If you are wanting to sign up for an in-store credit card be wary that your information is all on paper, it’s preferred to sign up online
o Watch for skimmer devices, especially in places like gas stations
o Beware of offer emails that have links asking for your personal information, go to site directly. Same with calls that say they are from your financial institution but are asking for persona information, call the number on your card.
o If you are involved with a data breach, call one of the credit bureaus to place your account on fraud alert
