KAYSVILLE, Utah --A body was found behind a medical clinic in Kaysville Sunday morning, and the cause of death has yet to be determined.

The discovery of a man believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s was made around 10 a.m. behind the Tanner Clinic on 335 North 300 West. The body has yet to be identified.

"I saw all the cameras and the cops over there early this morning and I had no idea what was going on," resident Blake Barber said.

Someone working at a nearby business spotted the man lying down and went over to investigate.

"Went over and observed the individual and determined that he was cold to the touch, at which point he backed away and contacted the police department," said Lt. Kenton Pies of the Kaysville Police Department. "There are no obvious signs, we don't believe there is any type of foul play, but we are early on in the investigation."

The neighborhood surrounding the clinic is the type of place where people leave their garage doors open throughout the day. It's not the type of place where an unidentified body mysteriously turns up.

"It's really strange, my wife, she takes our daughter over there, and we have been going over there for a couple of years, finding a body there is a little concerning," said resident Brady Barrett.

One neighbor said he wouldn't be surprised if the deceased man was somehow connected to the city's newest and biggest hangout, the nearby Chevron Station.

"It's known as Club Chev, I mean, you have high school kids that go over there, you have college kids that go over there, you have any group, it's kind of like a meet up point," said Resident Kyle Smith.

These residents don't believe they are in any danger, but they do say this is an unfortunate sign that the times are changing in their small, peaceful community.

"It's not a feeling of vulnerability, but it's like, so now we are growing and the stories that you typically see on the news in other cities are now happening here," Barbers said.

The body was taken to the state medical examiner for an autopsy.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the death or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to contact Kaysville PD at 801-546-1131.
