SPANISH FORK CANYON, Utah – Investigators are searching for elk poachers accused of killing and stealing three elk from a private ranch in Spanish Fork Canyon.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office said the elk, worth about $5,000 each, were poached on Aug. 15, the opening day of the elk hunt this year.

Authorities said the ranch is west of Soldier Summit  near mile marker 27 on Highway 6 and has clearly posted “no hunting” and “no trespassing” signs.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office would like to speak with anyone who has information at (801) 851-4029.
