LANSING, Michigan — In the film “Back to the Future II,” main characters Doc Brown and Marty McFly (along with Marty’s girlfriend,  Jennifer) use a time machine to travel from October 26, 1985 to October 21, 2015. Thus, October 21, 2015 is the unofficial “Back to the Future Day.”

To celebrate Back to the Future Day, Michigan State Police made a Facebook post showing one of their patrol cars pulling over a DeLorean – the same type of car used to house the time machine featured in the iconic film trilogy.

“Michigan State Police troopers stopped a silver DeLorean today for driving 88 mph in a 55 mph zone. The two occupants, Dr. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly, were given a verbal warning to drive more safely on Michigan roads. Dr. Emmett Brown responded by saying, ‘Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.’,” the Facebook post said.
