Human remains found in remote area near Enterprise Reservoir identified

UPDATE: Washington County Sheriff’s Office identified the body as 40-year-old Kennard Murray Dixon of Cedar City, Utah.

Family members reported Dixon missing after last seeing him over three weeks ago in the Las Vegas area.

There are no indications of foul play, but the investigators are looking into the events leading to Dixon’s disappearance and awaiting an autopsy report.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah — A man who was moving cattle in a remote area of Utah near Enterprise Friday found an unattended vehicle that had suffered damage along with human remains, and authorities have tentatively connected the remains to a missing person’s case out of Las Vegas.

According to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a citizen moving cattle about 9 miles southwest of Enterprise Reservoir came upon some human remains just before 2 p.m. Friday.

Responding personnel¬†from the sheriff’s office found a vehicle with out-of-state license plates that appeared to have been involved in some sort of crash. The remains that were found have been tentatively connected to a missing person’s case out of Las Vegas, Nevada. However, the final identification will be made by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The victim’s name has not yet been released, pending official identification and notification of next of kin.
