FORT CARSON, Co. — Lt. Daniel Oglesby was returning home from an 8-month deployment and his little girl just couldn’t wait any longer to see him.
The adorable moment was captured as the soldiers waited before they could greet their families.
When this 2-year-old spotted her dad, nothing was stopping her.
“She was excited. She spotted me from a couple rows back and she couldn’t contain herself,” Lt. Oglesby told KKTV. “I wasn’t gonna tell her no.”
“I was trying to decide whether or not it was good practice to break formation but I didn’t have the heart in me to not give my little baby a hug, so I had to go ahead and bend over and give her a hug and kiss on the forehead,” Oglesby told KXRM-TV.
Oglesby said it is difficult to be away but it’s all worth it.
“Being gone for 8 months, it’s tough. But once you see the look on their faces when you get back makes it worth it.”
