WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah — A man accused of kidnapping then sexually assaulting a developmentally disabled female in St. George was arrested Tuesday
afternoon.
The alleged assault occurred in mid-September. With the assistance of the public, St. George police say they were able to establish leads that led them to the home of Cherokee Miles Williams.
St. George Police Det. Brandon Dunbar was able to obtain a search warrant for Williams and his Hurricane residence, which was served Tuesday, according to a press release from St. George police.
As a result of the search warrant, Williams was arrested and booked in Purgatory Correctional Facility on charges of forcible sexual abuse, forcible sodomy and aggravated kidnapping.
“Again, we would like to thank the information provided by the public,” the release states. “The tips were instrumental in resolving the case quickly.”
Hurricane City police assisted in the investigation.
