(CNN) — A quadruplet, an aspiring pediatric nurse, and a man who had finally found his path in life. Recent high school graduates experiencing their fourth day of college. Beloved sons and daughters.

They were among the nine people killed Thursday when a gunman stormed the campus of Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon.

Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin gave their names and ages along with brief family statements. Here is more about the victims:

Lucero Alcaraz, 19

Lucero Alcaraz was from Roseburg and graduated from Roseburg High School this year.

She was one of 87 students who qualified to become UCC Scholars, according to a release from the college.

According to a post on her sister Maria’s Facebook page, it appears Lucero wanted to be a pediatric nurse.

“I’ll miss her making fun of me when I would attempt to say the Starbucks cup sizes, getting pissed when I would tackle her with kisses or photograph the heck out of her,” her sister wrote. “Sister, I miss you, I love you, and I wish I could see you walk through the front door right this second. I don’t know how I will make it through this …I don’t know if I can ever relieve this pain. Rest in piece sister…I’ll see you soon.”

Lucas Eibel, 18

Lucas Eibel was a quadruplet with two brothers and a sister. According to the Roseburg News-Review, the quadruplets graduated from Roseburg High School this year.

Like Alcaraz, Lucas Eibel was selected as a UCC Scholar.

Rebecka Ann Carnes, 18

Rebecka Carnes was from Myrtle Creek, just south of Roseburg. She graduated from South Umpqua High School in June, according to the News-Review.

Quinn Glen Cooper, 18

Quinn Cooper was from Roseburg, the sheriff said.

Kim Saltmarsh Dietz, 59

Kim Dietz was from Roseburg, the sheriff said.

Jason Dale Johnson, 33

Jason Johnson was from Winston, just south of Roseburg, the sheriff said.

Lawrence Levine, 67

Lawrence Levine, from Glide, about 16 miles northeast of Roseburg, was the teacher in the classroom that was attacked, the sheriff said.

Sarena Dawn Moore, 44

Sarena Moore was from Myrtle Creek, the sheriff said.

Treven Taylor Anspach, 20

Treven Anspach was from Sutherlin, just north of Roseburg. Chief Greg Marlar of the Douglas County Fire District No. 2 said Anspach was part of the fire and EMS family, though his exact role wasn’t immediately known.

“Obviously we are family, and this hurts,” Marlar said.

Relative of Sen. Jeff Merkley

The U.S. senator said that one of those killed was a distant cousin. He did not name the victim but said she was the great-granddaughter of his first cousin.

“This is a small town and everyone is affected,” Merkley said.

Merkley was born just south of Roseburg and still has family there.
