SLC police arrest man in connection with 2014 murder, seek public’s help solving case

SALT LAKE CITY — Police in Salt Lake City arrested a man for obstruction of justice in connection with a murder that occurred last year in the Glendale area, and authorities are asking anyone who may have information about the case to come forward.

Gustavo Jarquin, 18, was found dead on the side of the road near Indiana Avenue and Pueblo Street on September 18, 2014.

Last week, homicide detectives working with the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office secured an arrest warrant for 37-year-old Nathan Johnson for obstruction of justice. According to a press release from the Salt Lake City Police Department, Johnson was arrested in Antioch, California and is awaiting extradition to Utah.

Police are asking anyone with information about the murder to come forward, including any people who have already been interviewed.
