WEBER COUNTY, Utah -- Family and friends gathered Saturday night to remember a father and daughter killed in a crash on I-15 Riverdale last weekend.
Supporters started the memorial by releasing about 1,200 light-up balloons, then they went on a night bike ride to honor the victims.
Last Sunday, Ryan and Alyssa Chambers and their two daughters were hit from behind on I-15.
UHP Troopers were doing a "slow down" to remove debris from the road, and the Chambers family had stopped behind a semi when they were struck from behind—pushing the car into the back of the semi.
The debris in question turned out to be a doghouse that had fallen from a vehicle.
Ryan and 5-year-old Evie were killed in the crash. Alyssa and the couple’s 7-year-old daughter were taken to the hospital.
