OGDEN, Utah -- Dramatic video released Monday by the Utah Department of Public Safety shows a driver going the wrong way on I-15 in Ogden and the execution of two PIT maneuvers troopers used to stop the vehicle.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Weber County dispatchers notified them of a vehicle traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-15 near 31st St. shortly before 2 p.m. Monday.

The driver, who UHP identified as 32-year-old Natalie Peterson, was seen driving in the right emergency lane.

UHP reports Peterson failed to stop for troopers' lights and sirens, and continued to drive in the wrong direction. At one point, a statement from UHP said, Peterson drove toward a trooper, who had to take evasive action to avoid Peterson's vehicle.

As seen in the video, a second trooper followed the vehicle as it turned around to travel south. The second trooper executed a PIT maneuver, which damaged the vehicle, but didn't cause it to stop.

The trooper continued following the vehicle in the southbound lanes and executed a second PIT maneuver, which caused the vehicle to roll over, blocking the two left-most lanes.

According to the UHP statement, Peterson fled on foot and repeatedly tried to resist arrest. A video shot by a FOX 13 viewer (below) appears to show UHP troopers' attempts to subdue and arrest Peterson.

"After her vehicle rolled she exited the vehicle and she attempted to carjack a couple other vehicles, where the trooper encountered her trying to climb a semi to escape apprehension. At that time a trooperwrestled with her on the ground, as well as another trooper. Eventually, it took five troopers to bring her to some kind of peace where she waslaying on the ground. When she got to the hospital iot took another eight hospital staff to get her pinned down to the point they could get her subdued enough that she wasn't a harm to the officers or herself," said Lt. Chris Simmons, UHP.

Troopers say the suspect, Peterson sustained non life-threatening injuries in the car crash. They also say she was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of Monday's incident. Peterson is also on parole from the Utah State Prison, where she'll likely be returned to after her hospitalization.
