Deputies seize 56 pounds of marijuana during traffic stop

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah – A Washington County Deputy pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation and found 56 pounds of marijuana.

Early Monday morning Deputy Graf pulled a vehicle over for a lane travel violation. While speaking to the driver he smelled a marijuana odor and had his K-9 partner, “Tess,” investigate.

Tess indicated the presence of drugs and during a search of the vehicle Graf found and seized 56 pounds of marijuana.

Washington County is charging Melvin Posey of Chicago, Illinois, with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container of alcohol and lane travel violation.

They are also charging Rodrick Douglas of Gaithersburg, Maryland, with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and open container of alcohol.
