Two Utah mascots make final round in national ‘Mascot of the Year’ competition

SALT LAKE CITY – Two Utah mascots are finalists in a national competition for Mascot of the Year.

Mascot Insider’s Fourth Annual Mascot of the Year is in its final round, and the Jazz Bear and Felix Falcon are both in the running.

The Jazz Bear is known for his antics on and off the court for Salt Lake City’s NBA team, and Felix Falcon represents Utah’s all-female tackle football team—who will play in a national championship Saturday.

The other finalists include: Sluggerrr, Kansas City Royals; Tex Hooper, FC Dallas; Rowdy, Dallas Cowboys; Howler, Arizona Coyotoes; Tux the Penguin, Wilkes-Barre Penguins; Willie Wildcat, Kansas State University.
