WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — Two people waiting to be launched into the air on a slingshot ride narrowly escaped injury when one of the elastic cables snapped unexpectedly.

According to a report on fox6now.com, it happened Wednesday at Mt. Olympus, a theme park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

Two cables on one side of “The Catapult” snapped and slammed down on the pavement seconds before the ride was to be launched.

“The ropes are looking a little frayed,” said someone standing near the ride shortly before the incident.
