PARK CITY, Utah -- Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is coming to Utah for a fundraising event next month.
Utah Democratic Party Chairman Peter Corroon confirmed Clinton will be in Park City for a fundraiser on August 5.
"For the frontrunner to come to Utah this early on is really significant, and we're really excited about that. I think it shows that Utah does matter," said Donald Dunn, former state party chair and member of Clinton's national finance committee.
Attendees will have to pay $500.00 to get in the door and $2,700.00 to attend what is called the 'Champion's Dinner'.
The event is scheduled exactly eight years to the day from the last time a major Democratic candidate campaigned in Utah. That was August 5, 2007, when then-Senator Barack Obama attended a Park City fundraiser after a brief public event at Kimball Junction.
Clinton does not have a public event scheduled at this point.
"We've requested that. I think her time is very tight for the campaign event," said Dunn.
But Dunn says the campaign believes Clinton will return to Utah before the election.
This is the first time Clinton has visited Utah since 2008, when she held a rally for then-presidential candidate Barack Obama.
