HOLLYWOOD — Seven weeks after he said he was leaving the show, actor Harry Shearer has reportedly signed a contract to rejoin “The Simpsons,” an Entertainment Weekly report said.

For 26 years and nearly 600 episodes, Shearer has provided the voice of many of the show’s most iconic characters, including Principal Skinner, Ned Flanders and Montgomery Burns.  On May 14, Shearer sent a few tweets indicating he would no longer be part of the show and thanking fans for support.

But the Entertainment Weekly report says Shearer has signed the same contract as the other five principal actors – Dan Castellaneta, Yeardley Smith, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright and Hank Azaria – in a series of four-season deals.

He caved. It’s hard to walk away from millions. I’m glad to see they held the line and didn’t let him bully them. He is no more important than the other cast members.
