Homemade Meatball Hoagies

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 cups pasta sauce, any kind
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 hoagie buns, split
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef and next four ingredients with salt and pepper.  Form into 12 medium size balls. Heat a frying pan up to medium high heat. Cook the meatballs in the pan on each side until desired doneness.

In a small saucepan up to medium heat, add the pasta sauce and oregano for 3-4 minutes.

On a baking sheet, divide the mozzarella cheese among the 4 hoagies. Bake for 4-5 minutes or until slightly toasted and cheese melted. Add three meatballs to each sub. Top with desired amount of pasta sauce. Garnish with Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
