I was watching this morning on the report about the work release program. I was upset about the jokes made on this subject. My friends daughter was attacked in Provo, Utah by a man who walked away from a work release program 5 years ago. She should have been dead, but through her spirit to live and the grace of God she did live. Go back and check you new release for June and you will see the full story. He hit her in the head and face with a brick which broke every bone in her face, she lost all of her teeth. He crushed her chest, strangled her and then raped her. I have watched as this young women that has struggled with health issues. This issue should be addressed as how these inmates can just walk away from these programs. Take the time a research this and make a comment on the dangers of people being able to walk away from this program. She was from Cedar City, Utah and was going to collage in Provo. This concerned me and how lightly this was treated.

I don’t understand hardly anything about this story. If I knew who to ask or where to look I would want to ask a lot of questions. This article left me with more questions than answers. :(

The correct move for “work release” is have them all on a long chain, breaking rocks with sledge hammers, with a bunch of cops on horseback holding shotguns keeping an eye on them.

    “Work release.” Seriously?

considering the overwhelming majority of “criminals” in jail are non violent drug offenders, we shouldn’t assume these folks are thirsty for blood and revenge on the populous. keep it in perspective, folks.

So? We can debate whether they should be in jail or not, but since they ARE they’re not allowed to walk away.

Using drugs is a choice. As long as it’s illegal, choose not to do it. This isn’t complicated.
