Alaska man in critical condition after paragliding accident in Lehi

LEHI, Utah -- An Alaska man was critically injured after his paraglider crashed in Lehi early Saturday morning.

Deputies from Utah County Sheriff’s Office and Lehi police and fire responded to the crash at Point of the Mountain Flight Park at about 6:13 a.m. According to the sheriff’s office, the victim reportedly fell about 50 feet on top of the flight park near the south slope.

The victim, identified as Everett C. Bailey, Jr., 59, of Seward, Alaska, sustained head and back injuries and reported losing feeling in his lower extremities.

A LifeFlight helicopter flew Bailey to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.
