MIDVALE, Utah – Roads are back open after hazardous materials crews cleaned a chemical spill in Midvale Thursday.
Officials said hydrochloric acid, often used in pool cleaning, spilled on the sidewalk and roadway near 335 W. and 7200 S. just after 9 a.m.
Road crews blocked off eastbound 7200 S. at 300 W. while crews cleaned the spill.
The chemical did not get into the storm drains, just the sidewalk and road.
Authorities said they believe the chemical came from a truck passing by.
No injuries have been reported.
