BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah – Deer Valley has purchased another ski resort.

Deer Valley is now operating Solitude Mountain Resort.

Officials said the deal was finalized Thursday.

The resort said the first improvement planned for Solitude is to remove the Summit double chairlift and install a new detachable high-speed quad.

It also plans to cut a new ski run from the top of the existing Apex Express chairlift to the bottom of the Summit Express chairlift.

Officials said that will cut down on travel time to the Honeycomb Canyon.

Deer Valley said it will also be remodeling the Moonbeam Lodge Restaurant.
