SALT LAKE CITY – Organizers picked the perfect day to roll out the GREENbikes.

The bikes are actually coming out earlier this year thanks to the unseasonably warm weather.

Officials said they feel there is a big demand for the bikes and they have the statistics to prove it.

Based on the numbers from 2014, it looks like the local communities are taking advantage of this mode of transportation.

More than 150 bikes are available in 20 downtown stations.

Officials said 14,538 people rode 113 GREENbikes 46,264 times in 264 days last year.

An annual pass costs $75 but this year organizers are offering an office pass program with a reduced rate.
