TACONY, Penn. - A 4-year-old girl left her Pennsylvania home in the middle of the night in search of a frozen beverage.

According to WPVI, the driver of a Philadelphia municipal bus was flagged down around 3 a.m., Friday by a man who had found a young girl. Surveillance video from the bus shows little Annabelle getting onto the bus and taking a seat.

“I was like, whoa, you’ve got to be kidding me,” bus driver Harlan Jenifer said. “Not at this time of the night, 3:00 in the morning, a little girl? She’s a small thing. Kind of just shocked me.”

Jenifer called police while passengers comforted Annabelle. She then told them what her reasoning behind the late-night adventure.

“She had her mind set,” said Jenifer. “‘All I want is a slushie.’ That’s all she said.”

Within an hour, Annabelle was reunited with her shocked but thankful parents.

“He saved my daughter’s life,” said mother Jaclyn Mager. “I’ll be forever grateful.”

Annabelle’s parents have since reconfigured their door locks.
