SALT LAKE CITY – Authorities have arrested a woman they said admitted to starting two fires in Salt Lake City.

SLC fire arson investigators said they believe 26-year-old Krisa Harper is responsible for a couple of fires in Salt Lake City over the past eight months.

The first fire sparked at her home near 1200 N. and 900 W. back in Aug. 2014.

The second fire was at an occupied office building, Steiner Education, at 312 E. South Temple on Feb. 22, 2015.

While investigating the fire at Steiner Education, arson officials learned one of the suspects was at the house fire in Aug. 2014. and had blamed the human-caused fire on a child.

Authorities questioned Harper a second time and she admitted to the fire at Steiner Education as well as the house fire.

Harper is now facing charges including first-degree felony aggravated arson for the house fire and second-degree attempted aggravated arson and misdemeanor reckless burning and criminal mischief for the office building fire.
