MURRAY, Utah -- The community of Murray came together Monday night in honor of a local convenience store clerk shot and killed on the job.

"I just want to thank you all for your support. My dad was such a great guy, and you all probably knew that," said daughter Kansas Marsh.

Kansas Marsh came into town with family immediately after learning her father, David Marsh, had been attacked at the Lee Mart last Wednesday.

"If there's any information that you get, will you please call the Murray Police Department. These people need to be put away," said Kansas Marsh's sister, Sandi Baxter.

David Marsh, 62, had worked at the store for 25 years. When the current owners, the Lee family, took over 19 years ago, they knew they wanted him to stay with the business.

"He's just the nicest guy that you would ever meet. And he set the best example for everybody. He's the greatest guy," said Jimmy Lee, whose father owns the business.

Shortly after opening the store last Wednesday, two masked suspects ran in and forced David Marsh to hand over all the cash in the register. As they fled, one of them fired a single gunshot, which hit David Marsh in the torso.

He died from his injuries Sunday.

Those who attended Monday's vigil passed around a donation box to collect money for a reward.

"I don't care how much money it comes to to find these people. We will do it," said Patrick White, a customer.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Murray Police Department at 801-840-4000.
