Body pulled from Colorado River ID’d

GRAND COUNTY, Utah — Police have identified a man found in the Colorado River in Grand County over the weekend.

On Saturday, Grand County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a body in the river south of Fish Ford. The body was recovered and sent to the Utah Medical Examiner’s Office.

The victim has been identified as Zachary Velasquez, 24, of Fruita, Colo.

Cause of death is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 435-259-8115.
