SALT LAKE CITY – The standoff at a Salt Lake City home is over after the SWAT team discovered the man believed to be barricaded inside was not there.
Authorities are now searching for 26-year-old Siaosi Latu who is accused of assaulting his mother and grandmother Friday morning.
Salt Lake Police also said he is wanted on drug charges.
Officials were called to a home near 1900 W. and 630 N. at 5:30 a.m. about a “family fight.”
Police were told the man inside was armed so the SWAT team was called in.
Salt Lake City Detective Veronica Montoya said at least two women were in the home at that time but safely got out.
Officials closed 600 N. to 700 N.
