OREM, Utah – Authorities have increased the size of a reward offered in connection with some cases of suspected arson in Orem.

Orem officials are offering $13,500--an increase from the previous offer of $12,500--for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for starting the fires. The reward was put together by city leaders, realtors and the local development community.

One blaze took place at an apartment complex under construction on December 19. The second incident was a fire at a construction site in early February. Shortly before that fire, an off-duty police officer's car was set on fire, and the vehicle was in the same area as the construction fire. See the links at the bottom of this story for further details regarding the incidents.

Anyone with information about the fires is asked to call 801-229-7321. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
