SALT LAKE CITY – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints wants to hear what members have to say about temple garments.

The church is asking about fit, fabric, size and style.

Officials are looking for changes or improvements that could be made.

Last fall the LDS church released a video explaining the nature of the sacred clothing and equated the garments and temple robes to other holy vestments worn in other religions.

      Hi Pete,
They certainly are different from what the world thinks is cool or fashionable. However, I have felt tremendous spiritual blessings because of the temple garment and during the ordinance where they are given to members. I would not want to give up those amazing blessings simply because some people might ridicule them as ridiculous.
      Sincerely,
      David

You essentially have a choice. You can act like a five year old and make fun of others beliefs. Or you can act like an adult and appreciate the diversity of the world around you.

You should know though that even if you do continue to act like a child, and persist is claiming that another faith’s clothing is “ridiculous” that the adults in the room couldn’t care less. We stopped being offended by small people when we left high school.

Either way, our lives are not affected by you… so grow up or don’t.

“Tolerance” only extends to groups that liberals approve of. There is nobody more hate-filled, bigoted and angry than a liberal.

Well said, Finny. Although I am not from any particular faith background, I find beauty in many organized religions and various spiritual faiths. I think they can also be twisted into dark and horrible things, but for the most part, people who partake in religion do it to try to be better people. It’s just that the few who do the horrible things tend to be the loudest and get the most attention. If people want to express their faith by following tenets requiring the wearing of certain religious clothing, more power to them. They are in no way affecting other people’s lives, so they are really the only people who should have any say in the matter. Childish comments are not necessary.

Most religions have ecclesiastical clothing of some sort. Mormons choose not to put theirs on public display.

I guess that’s as good an excuse to hate as any.

I wonder how many of the haters are equally sarcastic about the saffron robes of Buddhist priests?

ZERO, I’m guessing. That’s because the haters are also hypocrites.

Ummmmm…….you’re a non-Mormon, according to your screen name. Do you ever think before you post?

We get that you hate Mormons. But your post makes no sense.

If garments could be made out of the same or extremely similar material as Under Amour’s “Heat Gear”, I’d be one happy camper…literally, because camping in garments is no fun.

I’ll admit they took some getting used to, but now I would feel naked without them. They help me remember my covenants, and how I am to live my life remembering the Lord.

The temple garment is not an ordinary fashionable cloth people think it is.It has really protected and change so many lives to live a spiritual life each day. I know the Lord’s words and work can never go unfulfilled. it has increase my family testimony.

GARMENTS ARE SO COMPLETELY COZY AND MODEST. I ENJOY MINE AND WHAT THEY REPRESENT. THEY ARE COST EFFECTIVE TOO. I DONT KNOW WHY PEOPLE HAVE A NEED TO BE UGLY WHEN THEY DISAGREE, WEAR WHAT YOU FIND FITS YOUR PERSONAL LIKES. BE CAREFUL HOW YOU CRITICIZE THAT WHICH YOU DONT UNDERSTAND, ESPECIALLY IS THIS IS DONE IN THE VOICE OF MALICE AND HATRID. THIS IS A COURTEOUS QUESTION ON HOW TO IMPROVE THE DESIGN AND FIT. THE PURPOSE FOR THEM IS BEAUTIF.

I think they should be the dry mesh atrial and just a little less coverage so I can find modern clothing to wear with them
