Police seek public’s help in finding man who fired gun at a Magna duplex, officials say

MAGNA, Utah — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who allegedly fired two shots into the front door of a Magna duplex early Saturday morning.

At approximately 5:58 a.m., Unified police responded to a series of duplexes in the area of 7255 West and Copperview Drive.

Lt. Justin Hoyal, spokesman for Unified police, said a man was smoking outside when he was approached by another man who asked him for drugs. The victim said ‘no.’

When the suspect asked again, the man said ‘OK’ and walked inside his duplex and shut the door.

the suspect then allegedly fired two shots into the door and ran off.

No one was injured.

The suspect is identified as a heavy set Caucasian male, about 5 feet tall.

He was last seen wearing a white scarf around his face with his hoodie pulled up.
