UTAH COUNTY -- A third Utah County resident has tested positive for measles, according to health officials Saturday.

The individual is under the age of 18 and was in contact with the two people who became ill with the measles after traveling to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park in December, according to a press release from the Utah County Health Department.

The person in the latest case was not immunized but did receive an MMR vaccine after the original people became ill. The individual was under quarantine during their infectious period, as a result, would not have exposed anyone else to the virus, the press release indicates.

The health department states the three cases are part of a larger outbreak being investigated in California.

Health officials say the best way to protect against the measles virus is to get immunizations.
