Man pleads guilty in Tooele teen stabbing

TOOELE COUNTY, Utah — A man accused of stabbing a Tooele teen last April pleaded guilty Tuesday in a Tooele courtroom.

According to court documents, Larry Beach, 20, of San Antonio, Texas, pleaded guilty to one count of murder.

Court documents indicate the state will file amended information to sentence Beach to manslaughter, a second-degree felony.Beach and Cofey mugshots tooele stabbing

Sentencing is scheduled for March 10.

Beach was arrested for the killing of 17-year-old Jessie Horowitz on April 26.

Police say Beach got into a fight with Horowitz at Stansbury Park Elementary in front of a crowd of teens and young adults. During the altercation, prosecuters say, Beach stabbed the teen several times in the chest, killing him.

Horowitz was from Stansbury Park and was a senior at Stansbury High School.

Roy Coffey, 19, of Stansbury Park, was also taken into custody in connection with the murder. He has been charged with obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony.

Coffey is scheduled in court for a roll call hearing on Feb. 10.
