WVC restaurant employees robbed at gunpoint; suspect still on the loose, police say

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man who robbed a West Valley City restaurant early Sunday morning.

At approximately 1 a.m., West Valley City police were called to Paulino’s Contigo Peru restaurant, located at 3411 S. Redwood Road, on a report of a robbery.

At around midnight, employees were cleaning up when one went out the back door to find a black man wearing all black standing there with a gun, according to police. The suspect reportedly took the employee back inside at gunpoint and demanded money from the register.

Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot after leaving with several hundred dollars.

Police and K9 units searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
