LOGAN, Utah – A Utah teen is recovering after falling into a 20-foot sinkhole in Logan Canyon.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Doyle Peck said a 13-year-old boy was riding a snowmobile in Canteen Springs near “the Sinks” when he came over a crest of a hill and landed in the sinkhole.

Friends and family were able to rescue the teen before emergency crews arrived.

The teen, whose name has not been confirmed, was taken to the hospital for head, neck and shoulder pain.

Lt. Peck said he is expected to make a full recovery.

Authorities are reminding riders about the importance of knowing the terrain.

What is the point of including a stock photo of a snowmobile on terrain that doesn’t even begin to resemble the actual “sink”? We all know what snowmobiles look like, and we all know what SNOW looks like. If you don’t have a relevant photo then just put up a pic of a smiley face or something.
