SALT LAKE CITY — A federal judge has issued a summons to “Super Dell” Schanze to appear before her to answer to accusations he has violated the terms of his pretrial release.

In a motion filed in U.S. District Court on Tuesday, U.S. Pretrial Services Officer David Fillipi wrote that Schanze has not complied with the conditions of his release, because they have been unable to inspect his home for firearms or ammunition.

A hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 30 in federal court. Schanze was granted release after a bizarre hearing earlier this month where he stood up and argued with the judge over another man’s case.

He was then placed in custody and argued with the judge over whether he could afford a lawyer. Schanze was granted release with conditions that included no firearms and a mental health evaluation.

Schanze is facing a misdemeanor charges accusing him of harassing an owl while on a powerglider. Schanze was known for his TV commercials pitching his computer retail chain. He also ran for governor.
