SALT LAKE CITY – Police are searching for a suspect accused of robbing a Top Stop gas station in Salt Lake City.

Officers were called about a robbery at the station near 1360 S. and 2100 E. at about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses said the suspect wore a blue bandanna to mask his face and showed a hand gun while demanding money from the clerk.

The suspect got away with an unknown amount of money.

K9 officers searched the area but weren’t able to find anyone.

“He was masked but it sounds like our suspect is a male white, somewhere in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches, slightly built, 150 pounds or so,” Salt Lake City Lt. Craig Gleason said. “The most notable thing about this suspect is he`s wearing a gray hoodie, zipped up, but the sleeves on the hood were like a navy blue.”

Investigators said they believe the suspect has a car parked near the gas station and used it to get away.

Police said they are reviewing surveillance video of the incident.
