Man arrested, teen injured in Salt Lake City street racing crash

SALT LAKE CITY – A teen is injured and a man is in jail after police said he crashed a car while street racing.

Officers said the pair was street racing near 900 N. and Redwood Rd. when the man’s vehicle lost control and crashed into a fence.

He and the teen passenger in the car ran from the crash; a K9 Unit found them shortly after.

The 17-year-old female passenger was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The 19-year-old driver, Carson N. Lund, was booked on several charges including DUI and driving on a suspended license.

    Wow he is already required to have an interlock on his car so this is probably his second DUI before he is even legally allowed to drink. His future is looking brighter by the day…

    Hopefully his family won’t help post his bail or pay his attorney’s fees. Time to get his attention by letting him cool his heels in jail.
