Fire crews investigating what sparked fire at Orem home

OREM, Utah – Authorities are investigating what sparked a fire at a home in Orem early Monday.

Officials said all the residents got out of the home and two were checked at the hospital as a precaution.

Fire crews were called to the house near 1600 S. and 6th W. just before 7 a.m.

Crews said they found the log cabin-type addition to the home engulfed in flames when they arrived.

The rest of the home has smoke damage with damages estimated at about $200,000.
