AMERICAN FORK, Utah -- The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade is coming up, and a band from a Utah high school will be lending their talents to the famous event for the second time.
The marching band for American Fork High School played in the parade in 2007, and in a few weeks they will be taking to the streets of New York City with a whole new crop of talented students. Each year, about 175 bands try out for the parade and only 10 are invited.
FOX 13 News' Bob Evans spoke with band members and the band director about the opportunity, see the video above for their comments.
The students have been preparing since May, and many of them have paid for their own way on the trip through fundraising efforts. About 230 members of the band and more than 400 parents as well as 70 chaperones are planning to make the trip.
