Utah State Treasurer Richard K. Ellis is reminding Utahns to check if they have unclaimed assets.
Theunclaimed property includes things like checking and savings accounts, over payments, insurance checks, utility refunds, dividends, stocks and contents of safe deposit boxes.
All you have to do to find out if you have unclaimed property is check online with the Utah State Treasury.
Lived in other states? You can check those too.
About 40 other states participate in the program.
If you do have unclaimed property, you’ll need to fill out the form available online and mail it in with proof the property is yours.
There is no charge for this service.
