Well let’s just call this week what it really was for me: a bad head day!
I had surgery at the Utah Surgical Center in West Valley on Monday morning. I was nervous, and I’ll be honest a little scared–even though Dr. Hollingsed gave me some comforting words when he said that cancerous lumps or bumps are not usually formed where my lump was located.
I literally felt like I blinked once and it was over, though it was a one-hour blink. There were no complications, and the 4-inch long, 1.5-inch wide lump was sent to a lab for testing. Fifteen stitches later, I’m out the door and on my way home. I am happy that all went well.
I am antsy to say the least because I am unable to work out or be active for a while. I was discouraged a little from all the health issues that are being corrected, but my co-worker and good friend Dan Evans told me that it is like a flood when the water subsides to reveal what is underneath. It is a good thing to clear up these health issues. Thanks Dan, much love bro.
It is one whole week of Movember and beyond the facial hair for men’s health issues I am also remembering the men in my family who have died from health complications by listening to a favorite song or reading a favorite poems of theirs while looking at old pictures.
I am forever grateful to all those who have aided me in this #LosingForLife journey…first and foremost God for his tender mercies along with Doctors Cottam and Richards, BMI Utah, Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, FOX 13 and FOX 13 viewers, my family and my friends.
