MIDVALE, Utah – A Midvale man is behind bars after police say he held a gun to a man’s head during a domestic dispute.

Johnathan Holliday, 29, arrived at his Midvale home early Tuesday morning, to find his live-in girlfriend hanging out with another man.

Police said when Holliday found the two together, he got into a fight with the other man and punched him in the mouth.

“The suspect in this case went back to a back bedroom where he retrieved a hand gun,” Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said. “He came back out, put it to the victims head and told him to get out of the house. He then fired off a round, not at the victim but in a different direction.  Again he put the gun to the victim’s head, told him to get out of the house and then fired off another round.”

The victim then ran to the Maverick near 600 East and Fort Union Boulevard and called police.

Holliday left the home and went to a family member’s home where someone called the police as well.

Officer’s went to the house where Holliday was and arrested him for aggravated domestic assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child.

Holliday and girlfriend’s 4-year-old child were at home during the domestic dispute.
