MURRAY, Utah – Police officials held a press conference Wednesday and released additional information relating to a woman who was reported missing after she left her home without any shoes while it was raining and has not been seen since.

Kayelyn Louder, 30, disappeared from her Murray condo September 27 around 7 p.m., and police officials said Wednesday that prior to that date the woman had called 911 several times and that her roommate had become concerned the woman was “delusional.”

During the press conference, Kenny Bass of the Murray Police Department said they are concerned for her welfare. See the video at the bottom of this story for more from that press conference.

"Right now the Murray City Police Department believes that Kayelyn left her apartment in a troubled state of mind and is possibly delusional," he said.

Louder made several calls to 911 before she left, Bass said, and those calls were investigated but found to be false reports. One call was regarding what she reported to be a fight at a clubhouse involving armed combatants, though police did not find any such occurrence when they responded. There was a wedding reception going on at the clubhouse, and nobody there had heard anything about a fight, Bass said.

On the morning she disappeared, the woman called 911 to report that someone had broken into her home. They said Louder remained on the line with dispatch and could be heard yelling for people to leave. Her roommate woke up and told Louder there was nobody in the house. Officials said when they arrived they did not find any indication that a break in had occurred.

Bass said dispatch officials reported that during at least one of the calls Louder seemed confused.

Bass said Louder’s roommate told police she became concerned by Louder’s behavior, saying Louder seemed “delusional."

Surveillance footage from the complex where Louder lives shows she was walking around with her dog several hours before she left, and Bass said it appeared she was having an "animated conversation" but that there weren't any other people present.

Bass said they are worried about her well-being.

"We're really concerned because of that," he said. "We don't know where she is, we don't know her mental state right now, we don't know possibly what's occurred. We don't think there's anything as far as foul play goes, but the concern is if she's not able to take care of herself or she's delusional. She may not know to ask for help."

For now, police say they don't know if Louder was under any kind of influence during the 911 calls and prior to her disappearance. They said they have not found any medications at her condo to indicate she was being treated for any mental or emotional issues.

A friend of Louder's, Joe Cooling, said he has known the woman since the fourth grade. He said he doesn't buy the theory presented by police.

"I think all that stuff is kind of irrelevant," he told FOX 13 News. "The big question is: That doesn't explain why she's gone so long and where she's at."

A group of supporters gathered Wednesday night to search for Louder and spread fliers with her picture and information on them.

"I think that there's every possibility that she's OK somewhere," Cooling said. "We haven't seen anything to indicate that she has been harmed, as the police say."

The woman’s family said previously they will continue searching no matter how long it takes to find their loved one.

“Even if it’s the worst case scenario, that something has happened, like we need to find her body or something,” said Madi Rodriguez, who is Louder’s sister.

Anyone who sees Louder or who has information that could help locate her is asked to call 801-264-2673.
