WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — West Valley City police have arrested two men who, according to probable cause statements, admitted to participating in an armed robbery at a residence early Wednesday morning.

Brian Lopez and Lorne Baylor each face felony charges of weapons violation and aggravated robbery, along with misdemeanor charges of failure to stop at the command of a law enforcement officer.

According to the probable cause statements, police observed Lopez, Baylor and a third individual running near 3200 S 3800 W.  Lopez and Baylor were taken into custody.

Police said they found firearms, including a SKS rifle, in a vehicle connected to the incident.

After he was captured and read his Miranda rights, Baylor admitted to police that he participated in the robbery, which he described as drug-related, and was in possession of a firearm, the statement said.

Lopez, after he was captured and read his Miranda rights, admitted he knew he was in trouble, that he handled guns in the vehicle, that he was involved in planning and that he went to the residence, the statement said.

Police said there were four people in the home at the time of the robbery and no one was hurt.
