TOOELE COUNTY, Utah -- A collision between two semi trucks in Tooele County resulted in a fire and sent one person to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 2 p.m., a semi truck traveling north on State Route 36 collided with a southbound semi truck hauling a load of tires, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

The northbound semi truck driver attempted to make a left turn onto Saddleback Road when it struck the semi, causing the trucks to catch fire.

The video above shows footage of the fire caused by the collision. The video was submitted by FOX 13 viewer Dorothy Fletcher who drove past the accident.

One man suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital and two others were treated on scene.

The accident closed northbound lanes on SR 36 for several hours.

The long closure wasn’t so much for the wreck itself, but rather to repair the melted and damaged pavement.
